Keith Thirgood leads these 5.5-hour long, practical workshops on the art and practice of painting en plein air. (It sounds better in French.)
- As this is plein air, the workshops will be held out of doors. (See below for rain day information.)
- You will learn techniques for simplifying the visual chaos a live scene presents.
- You will learn how to compose a live scene.
- You will practice reducing the scene to values.
- We start with an introduction to modern colour theory and how to mix with a simplified palette. Followed by a discussion of some of the practical aspects of plein air painting and learn some “tricks” for making plein air easier.
This gives you a good start in the art of plein air painting. And gives you grounding in plein air before you went off into the wilderness on a a bigger plein air event, such as one of our retreats.

CANCELLED
If we have to cancel due to poor weather conditions, you can transfer your fee to one of the other dates, one of our larger retreats or we will refund your money.
Cancellation Policy
If you cannot make the event, you can get a full refund if you cancel 21 days or more before the event date. If you cancel with less than 21 days notice, there is a $10 cancellation fee. If you cancel with less than 14 days, there is a 20% cancellation fee. If you cancel with less than 7 days, there is no refund.
