Monday, August 12 to Thursday August 15, 2013, Three day Art Retreat in Haliburton Ontario, Canada with Helen Walter and Keith Thirgood.
Helen and Keith have had great success coaching and inspiring new and intermediate skilled painters. They work with you over three days helping you capture the glorious scenery of Haliburton, Ontario.
They teach through example and individual coaching. Haliburton is famous for its rugged landscape, however, it also has small towns and country scenes worth capturing in paint.
On Monday, after you arrive and settle in (after 4 pm), we have dinner and have an informal discussion on what you hope to gain from this retreat.
We begin every morning at 9 am heading off to the first location. You get down to painting right away, taking advantage of the morning light, with Keith and Helen acting as your personal coaches. At noon, Helen or Keith will give a demo, then it’s lunch, a short break and back to painting for the rest of the day. After dinner Helen and Keith will lead an informal discussion of our day's work.
Each day we have the opportunity to paint at least two great locations.

Fourth Chute, Bonnechere, Keith Thirgood
Although Helen and Keith will be demonstrating in acrylic, oil painters as well as watercolourists and pastel artists will gain from their discussions of values, composition and reducing the plein air scene to abstracted shapes in order to bring an effective composition out of visual chaos.
The accommodation near Eagle Lake is in an upscale cottage. There is space to paint, in case of inclement weather.
We provide all meals so you can concentrate on painting.
