4-day Back Country Art Retreat with Phil Chadwick August 6 - 10
Wilson Street Studio has arranged for artist and instructor Phil Chadwick to work with us over four days in the back country of Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park, Ontario.
A real Group of Seven experience. You will canoe into the backcountry of the park, camping under the stars, cooking your own meals and painting the Canadian wilderness under the guidance of Phil Chadwick, artist, canoeist and meteorologist.
Trained at Queen's University as a nuclear physicist, "Phil the Forecaster" has been a professional meteorologist since 1976. An avid canoeist, Phil believes that a fully equipped paradise needs only a quiet back lake, a canoe, art supplies and a fishing rod. As Phil says, "My desire is simply to get better - at art... life and fishing!"

Your experience begins when we meet August 6 at the Provincial Park access centre beside Long Lake Lodge. Once all the party is together, we load the canoes and head off for our camp site. Depending upon the slowest canoe's speed, it will take 2 to 3 hours to paddle and portage to our campsite. After we set up, Phil will run an orientation session where we will discuss your goals for this retreat and what you're looking to get out of it.
