Three-day Art Retreat in the Ottawa Valley of Southern Ontario, Canada with Keith Thirgood. Keith is a Canadian Post-Impressionist. His style could be described as semi-abstract reductionism.
Keith will take you to places A.Y. Jackson and others of the Group of Seven painted. He acts as mentor and instructor, helping you reach new insights in your painting.
Keith will also teach you Modern Colour Theory and practical color mixing.

Alone in the Woods: Keith Thirgood
Your weekend in the resort begins Wednesday evening, after check in, with an orientation session a workshop on Modern Colour Theory and a discussion about locations, technique and the art of plein air painting.
Thursday morning at 9 am it's off to the first location. You get down to painting right away, taking advantage of the morning light. At noon, Keith will give a demo, then lunch and back to some serious painting for the rest of the day.
Friday we begin the day with painting a new location in the morning, a demo at noon, followed by more individual painting with Keith coaching you every step of the way.
Saturday we head off to a new location a new demo and, in the afternoon before we all say goodbye, we will have a chance to review and learn from each others work.
During your stay, Keith will be instructing, demonstrating, mentoring and painting alongside you.

The accommodations are in a modern cottage with a full, modern kitchen and shared rooms. (No co-op rooms)
As space is limited, all accommodation is shared, two artists per room, or if a couple is in one room the room is shared between the couple and an individual artist. (If a couple wants a room to themselves, add $100 to the total, as this eliminates one artist from the retreat.)
